Parts of E. Raynor Avenue to close next week

E. Raynor Avenue will be closed between Irving Avenue and Stadium Place starting Oct. 22. The street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to an SU News email.

But the street will be open starting at 3 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday to accommodate people travelling to the NBA preseason basketball game, according to the email.

Starting Oct. 23, E. Raynor Avenue, between Irving Avenue and Stadium Place, will be closed for 24 hours every day until Oct. 26 at 6 p.m, according to the email.

Bus routes will be affected. The Connective Corridor bus will continue to stay on Irving Avenue, but will not pass through Henry Street. Those who board the Connective Corridor bus on Henry Street will have to board at the Irving Avenue bus stop, according to the email.

There will be temporary bus stops northbound on Irving Avenue near the Carrier Dome, as well as Irving Avenue at the intersection of Van Buren Street, according to the email.



Syracuse University’s Quad Shuttle will continue to make the regular stops, but there will not be a stop at the Irving Avenue Garage, according to the email.

Customers who park in the garage and use the Quad Shuttle are recommended to park in the Stadium Lot, off of Henry Street, and board the shuttle at the corner of Henry Street at Van Buren Street, according to the email.

There will be signs to help direct detours, according to the email. Emergency vehicles will also be accommodated.

Irving Avenue, between Van Buren Street and E. Raynor Avenue, will be open only to SU, State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Carrier Dome traffic using Forestry Drive, according to the email.
