Syra-Juice to reopen Monday after paying sales tax

Syra-Juice Juice Bar & Eatery in Marshall Square Mall will reopen Monday after New York state seized the business for not paying almost $3,000 in sales tax.

A letter on the door of Syra-Juice stated the state Department of Taxation and Finance repossessed the store on Wednesday. The warrant was executed for $2,761 in unpaid sales tax.

Leah Davis, the owner of Syra-Juice, said in an email that she paid the taxes on Friday, and appreciates the community’s support during this time.

“We are, as always, very much interested in bettering Syra-Juice and thankful for the myriad of personal calls, emails and letters we have received,” Davis said. “We have always absolutely loved our customers and it’s pretty clear they love us right back.”
