Louisville guard Jones suspended, won’t play against Syracuse
No. 12 Louisville has suspended point guard Chris Jones and he won’t play against Syracuse on Wednesday, UofL announced Tuesday night.
Jones averages 13.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game and leads UofL with 2.0 steals per contest. He combines with guard Terry Rozier, the Atlantic Coast Conference’s third-leading scorer, to formulate one of the country’s top backcourts.
Louisville’s Anton Gill and Quentin Snider, who average 10 and 9.3 minutes per game respectively, are likely to fill in in Jones’ absence.
The Orange (16-9, 7-5 ACC) tips off with Louisville (20-5, 8-4) at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Carrier Dome as SU’s rigorous end to its schedule continues.
