SA Briefs: 3 takeaways from Monday’s meeting (April 25)
Here are three takeaways from the Syracuse University Student Association’s Monday night meeting in Maxwell Auditorium. The meeting was SA’s last of the 2015-16 academic year.
Elections
After heavily contested elections, Caitlin Smith was elected speaker of the assembly, Jose Marrero was elected to be the Board of Trustees representative and Jack Harding was elected parliamentarian.
Mobile printing
SA President Aysha Seedat shared with the SA assembly that by fall 2016, students will be able to print from their mobile phones in the library. The system will enable students to airdrop a file and then print it through a mobile device.
Tobacco-free
Seedat announced that the third stage of the initiative to make the SU campus tobacco-free will be starting in 2017. This stage will affect places such as Syracuse Stage and the Sheraton University Hotel and Conference Center.
