Juice Jam will be held several weeks later than it is typically held due to scheduling conflicts.

Before you head out to Juice Jam in a few weeks, take some time to learn about the artists performing. Here are three things you should know about electronic producer Marshmello:

1. His identity was once completely unknown

While performing, Marshmello always wears his signature mask: a marshmallow with a smiley face. He kept his identity unknown, but there was speculation claiming that American DJ Chris Comstock, also known as Dotcom, filled the suit. The rumors were confirmed after Skrillex posted a video of himself and several other celebrating Marshmello’s birthday on May 19.

According to an MTV article, before his identity was revealed, Marshmello said: “I just want to make good music. That doesn’t require you knowing who I am.”

2. He is inspired by deadmau5 and Daft Punk

This may explain why Marshmello likes to keep his identity hidden, as both deadmau5 and Daft Punk wear masks while performing. Regardless, they share similar styles of music.

3. He gained popularity by remixing songs and posting them on SoundCloud

Since the initial remixes, Marshmello has written his own music. His first original track, “WaVeZ,” dropped on March 3, 2015. Soon after, his other tracks gained popularity, especially when Skrillex shared “FinD Me” with his large fanbase.
