Syracuse forward Matthew Moyer will sit out Saturday’s matchup against Pittsburgh with a sprained left ankle, according to SU Athletics.
Moyer, who has started every game this season and averages 4.5 points and 4.9 rebounds, sustained the injury in the first five minutes of Wednesday’s game against Boston College. The sophomore left that game and didn’t return.
Freshman Marek Dolezaj, who averages 4.2 points and 5 rebounds, is likely to start in Moyer’s place.
Without Moyer, SU is down to just seven scholarship players; however, one of them is freshman center Bourama Sidibe, who has already missed two ACC games and has averaged just five minutes per game in the contests he’s played as he deals with tendinitis in his knee.
