Rapper 21 Savage will be headlining this year’s Juice Jam Music Festival, along with support from artists EarthGang, FLETCHER and Mt. Joy, with a guest to be announced, University Union said in a press release Wednesday morning.

Moving to Atlanta, Georgia, when he was 7 years old, Savage kicked off his solo career in 2014 with his single “Picky.” Since then, the UK-born rapper has collaborated with musical talents like  American producer Metro Boomin and rapper Travis Scott in Boomin’s 2018 album “NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES.” His 2017 single, “Bank Account” reached no. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 

Along with performing at Juice Jam, Savage will be performing at the Austin City Limits Festival with headliners Childish Gambino and Billie Eilish in October. 

In one of Savage’s latest songs, “Ball w/o you,” hints about his recent break-up with former girlfriend Amber Rose, according to Genius. Since releasing, the music video has reached more than 31 million views on YouTube. 

EarthGang is comprised of two young Atlanta-based artists, Olu and WowGr8. According to an interview with Huck Magazine, the first time that the two performed together was at their high school graduation in 2009. Now, the two are known for marrying lean, sharp-eyed lyricism with southern-fried soul, according to a UU spokesperson.

Hailing from New Jersey, FLETCHER, made her debut in 2010. A year later, FLETCHER auditioned for the first season of U.S. version of The X Factor. FLETCHER has two EP’s with her most famous song being “Undrunk” which has over 60 million streams on Spotify.

Mt. Joy is a five-member indie group based in Los Angeles. Group members include Matt Quinn, Sam Cooper, Sotiris Eliopoulos, Jackie Miclau and Michael Byrnes. The band started in 2016 with their single, “Astrovan.” The band’s name, and second album, “Mt. Joy,” is named after a mountain in Valley Forge National Historical Park where two of the members grew up.

Tickets are $20 cash only with a valid SU/SUNY ESF student ID. Pick up for tickets will be at the Syracuse University Quad from Wednesday, Aug. 28 until Sept. 8, except Labor Day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the release.   

Doors open for the annual festival at 12:00 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Skytop Field.
