Syracuse earned its first 2019-20 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honor. Buddy Boeheim co-won the award with Florida State’s Devin Vassell.
The sophomore averaged 24 points per game over SU’s (11-7, 4-3 ACC) last two wins. On Wednesday, he scored 22 against Boston College, at one point outscoring the entire Eagles roster. Buddy also put up a career-high 26 points in Blacksburg against Virginia Tech. In the win over the Buddy scored 18-straight points for the Orange.
“I just felt really good before the game,” Buddy said after SU’s most recent win.
The output raised Buddy to the fifth-most points per game in the conference (16.2). Boeheim has struggled at times this season, including missing 10 of his first 12 shots in Syracuse’s Jan. 11 win over Virginia, but Orange head coach Jim Boeheim recently called Buddy Syracuse’s best shooter.
“I know if we keep getting him those shots,” Boeheim said after Syracuse’s Jan. 11 win, “he’s going to make them.’’
Buddy look to continue his hot streak at Notre Dame on Wednesday night.
