The Department of Public Safety is currently investigating a report that an Asian American Syracuse University student was verbally harassed by individuals in a passing vehicle Jan. 25.
The incident occurred at the corner of Stratford Street and Comstock Avenue, DPS said in a bias incident report. The incident was first reported on Thursday, according to DPS. There was no physical altercation, the department said in the report.
The reported incident is one of at least 24 racist, anti-Semitic and bias-related incidents to occur on or near SU’s campus since Nov. 7. Graffiti targeting Black and Asian people has been found in multiple SU buildings, including freshman residence halls.
No other information about the Jan. 25 incident is available at this time, DPS said.
