Syracuse men’s rowing falls to No. 8 in Week 6 IRCA/IRA Men’s Varsity 8+ Poll

Syracuse men’s rowing dropped to No. 8 in week six of the IRCA/IRA Men’s Varsity 8+ Poll after placing sixth in the Grand Final at the EARC Eastern Sprints.

Syracuse men’s rowing’s varsity 8 dropped to No. 8 in week six of the IRCA/IRA Men’s varsity 8+ Poll, which released Wednesday.

The varsity 8 finished in sixth place in the Grand Final at the EARC Eastern Sprints over the weekend, 6.071 seconds behind Brown, who moved from No. 6 to No. 2 in the poll.

SU’s second varsity 8 moved from No. 10 to No. 6 after finishing fourth in the Grand Final, four seconds behind No. 5 Dartmouth in third.

The third varsity 8 fell from No. 8 to No. 9. The 3V8+ won the Petite Final at the Eastern Sprints over No. 11 Cornell, No. 10 Northeastern, No. 12 Navy, No. 13 Pennsylvania and No. 14 Wisconsin.



The Orange moved down to No. 8 in the Ten Eyck Team Points after previously being No. 7. SU’s V8+, 2V8+, 3V8+ and V4+ were accepted as entries into the IRA National Championship, set to take place in Mercer Lake, New Jersey, from May 31 to June 2.
