Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety and Syracuse Police officers responded to reports of a deceased person on the fifth floor of Huntington Hall around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a campus-wide DPS email.
The person was not affiliated with SU, according to the email. Officers did not find signs of foul play or other suspicious activity. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office has removed the person from the building, the email stated.
Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick said the body had been there for at least two days before authorities responded, CNY Central reported Thursday. Fitzpatrick identified the deceased person as a 76-year-old male.
