Barnes & Noble College released an update over winter break regarding its spring 2025 plans at Syracuse University, including its management of store material, new online resources and transactional requirements following the company’s takeover of the campus store.

SU’s current course material provider, eCampus, will continue to supply textbooks and course material for the remainder of the year, according to the release. In October, SU announced that Barnes & Noble College would manage all course materials, general merchandise, retail and e-commerce for the university’s campus store beginning Jan. 1.

The transition started in the fall and will continue throughout the spring 2025 semester. BNC will begin supplying materials on May 13.

BNC will also not accept university identification cards as a form of payment for faculty or departments, as the store is no longer considered an internal university department. Students will be able to continue making purchases with their SUID.

Though it won’t begin providing materials until the end of this spring semester, BNC will offer new services for students and faculty, including the B&N Adoptions and Insight Portal, an internet-based platform that will help faculty select and organize course material in addition to expanding its merchandise.

AIP will be available beginning this summer. Faculty start training with the program starting next month.
