In just three words, sophomore magazine major Chazz Inniss sums up his take on men’s fall fashion: “Beanies are life.”

Inniss paired his Forever 21 beanie with a plaid statement coat he scored from Gap last Black Friday. “It was 75 percent off,” Inniss said with excitement. He layered a gray sweater from Banana Republic underneath and finished the look with H&M jeans and ASOS slip-ons.

Inniss said he is really into pea coats and longer coats for fall. After looking outside in the morning, he knew he wanted to wear his plaid coat, and he styled the rest of the outfit accordingly.

For men on campus, fall is the perfect time to experiment with style and strive for more fashionable looks. Start with dark-wash jeans and a cozy sweater, and then play up the look with a unique coat. Don’t forget accessories: scarves are always in for the fall; shoes like slip-ons, cool sneakers or short boots can make an outfit; and channeling the mindset of Inniss, every outfit can use a beanie.
