Jackson played in a number of games for the Spartans in 2017, but was at best a complementary piece in MSU's offense.

Wide receiver Trishton Jackson, a former four-star recruit, announced via Twitter on Monday that he will transfer from Michigan State to Syracuse.

Jackson will have to sit out the 2018 season, but will have two years of eligibility remaining starting with the 2019 season.

Standing at 6 feet, 1 inch and weighing 179 pounds, Jackson caught 12 passes for 143 yards this past season. At West Bloomfield (Michigan) High School, Jackson received scholarship offers from MSU, Cincinnati, Iowa and Pittsburgh, among others. Jackson was also a high school teammate of current Syracuse safety Evan Foster.

Jackson joins a rather unproven receiver group for Syracuse after the departures of seniors Ervin Philips and Steve Ishmael to graduation.
