It is unclear whether the burglaries are related.

A series of burglaries occurred in the off-campus neighborhood east of Syracuse University over winter break, the Department of Public Safety announced Friday.

The Syracuse Police Department is investigating 13 break-ins reported between Dec. 15 and Jan. 15, according to a campus-wide DPS alert. It is unclear whether the burglaries are related.

The alleged perpetrators entered each off-campus property through windows and doors. Students should lock exterior doors and windows when they enter and exit their home and keep valuable items in secure locations, according to DPS.
