In the final Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll of the season, Syracuse women’s rowing dropped one spot to No. 11. This is SU’s first movement in the rankings since April 24, when it slid from No. 8 to No. 10.

Last weekend, the Orange capped off their 2024 campaign by coming in 11th at the NCAA Championship, their second-best finish in program history. SU was jumped in the poll by now-No. 10 University of Pennsylvania after the Quakers finished one point ahead of the Orange.

At the NCAA Championship, Syracuse’s varsity 8 placed eighth, matching its result from 2023. SU’s varsity 4 placed 12th while the second varsity 8 took 13th. Both results were the boats’ best placements at NCAAs since 2021.

“The varsity 8 was a great way to finish the regatta for us, they had their best race on the last day, as did the second varsity 8,” Syracuse head coach Luke McGee said in a press release. “The (varsity) 4 did a nice job in their opening race getting to the A/B semifinal. Everyone had a good performance at some point during the weekend.”

This marked the end of a historic season for Syracuse — one where it claimed its first ACC title in program history and came seconds from tying its program-best finish at the NCAA Championship.
